Wine Cellars
In 2005 we decided to build our dream home in the mountains near the Reno/Tahoe area. We had always wanted a unique wine cellar that felt like we just stepped into a centuries old cave somewhere in wine country. Wine barrels had to be a major part of the scheme.
When we looked at buying a wine rack made from real wine barrels we found out that nobody had such a product (though several told us…”hey that’s a good idea?”)…so we decided to build them ourselves.
It took a bit of work, but, we finally got what we wanted. After we finished, we were encouraged by many friends and building professionals to market the product. So we have done just that and have applied for and awarded a patent (*1) on the concept. We opened for business in February 2008 and we have been busy ever since.
In November 2008 we added two new products to our flagship full-barrel product. The new products are 1/2 and 1/3 barrel wine racks that fit into much smaller areas and still deliver the authentic beauty and look of full-sized wine barrels.
In October 2010 we decided to go entirely to recycled barrels, giving “new” life to old barrels. We are only offering 1/2 and 1/3 barrels at this time. We are closing out the new barrel products and have discounted the pricing.
